Yoghund Organic Frozen Yoghurt for Dogs

It's not often that we find treats that all seven of the Hounds of Hell will eat.  In particular we have a little miss thang who, due to her troubled childhood in the puppymill, will rarely take treats of any kind.

But she was on this stuff like white on rice.  And we knew we'd hit the summertime jackpot.

Now let me set the scene for what its like to feed doggie frozen yogurt to seven tiny hounds (who have no manners) at the same time.  We took the herd out on the deck and assumed the seated position, PG and I both armed with cups of Yoghund.  Well, I can assure you what few manners our dogs have were nowhere to be found.  They literally mobbed us to get more of this stuff. 

Now most of our friends know that we feed our dogs better than we feed ourselves.  And after looking at the ingredients on the Yoghund package, we knew we had to try some ourselves (aww, shuddup...its organic after all).  And while it wouldn't be something we'd curl up with in front of the tube, we had to admit that it wasn't bad.  Not as sweet as human ice cream, but not too shabby.  Don't worry, we don't do this with all of our dog's treats and food (we have some standards ya know).

Anyway, with ingredients like organic low fat milk, spring water, organic banana puree, organic peanuts, and of course active cultures...heck, we knew it was better than the convenience store nachos that we regularly feed ourselves.  But the interesting part is that those are ALL of the ingredients.  No filler crud, no weird stuff we can't pronounce.  And of course that's super important to us.  Its also eco-cool that the packaging is biodegradable (and looks like cute little containers from a certain premium ice cream company that we like).

So, if you're pooch needs a little cooling down in the late summer heat, give him some of this.  Their website is very user friendly and will direct you to the nearest store that carries it.

And to Yoghund from The Barking Dog, LTD...we give five out of five fire-hydrants.

HEY, I've been making that for YEARS for the hounds...but I add honey! I make it in ice cube trays.
Helluva lot better that the Frosty Paws CRAP with the chemicals.
